CPDC - Creative Portfolio Development Course

About the Course:
This course is designed to give aspiring creative professionals the tools, feedback and applied experience they need to strengthen their portfolios and their job-seeking prospects. Students learn how to fine-tune their creative work and how to effectively pitch the ideas behind their work to prospective employers. Creative directors join the class to share creative insights as well as presentation tips for getting the attention of agency decision-makers. A good portion of class time is spent critiquing and improving students’ portfolios and pitch approaches.
The course is for anyone who wants to work as a creative (art director or writer) in advertising, including students in college advertising programs or recent university graduates.

- Art Director’s Contest: Winning student will get their ad shot FREE by Hamin Lee, one of Toronto’s top photographers.
- Copywriter’s Contest: Winning student will have their script produced FREE at Problem Child Radio. Edna Talent Management (ETM) will provide voice talent.
- Pirate Radio will provide each student with a “Best Of” radio compilation reel.
- CORBIS stock photography will provide students FREE access to their bank of photographs.

About the Program Instructors:
Led by Tony Miller, Creative Director + Partner at Smith Roberts Creative Communications
An experienced creative director and copywriter, Tony started his career back in 1988 and has worked for clients such as Sony, Sprint, Swiss Chalet, Mercedes-Benz, workopolis, Toshiba and Hershey. He is an industry leader, having won many awards in domestic and international competitions, and has judged his share of shows too, including Cannes and the New York Festivals. Tony has written industry-related articles that have appeared in Marketing, Strategy and Applied Arts.
Tony is responsible for inviting into the classroom a team of industry experts who share their knowledge, insights and evaluate your portfolio progress during the weekly sessions. Previous guest speakers have included:
